dsquared have been appointed as State Government advisors for the proposed new fit-out of 81 Waymouth Street, Adelaide, to form over 9,000sqm of new workplace for the Department of the Environment, Water and Natural Resources (DEWNR).
dsquared have undertaken reviews of the proposed design approaches and scope of works and in conjunction with the Schiavello design and construct team established a cost effective pathway for the project to obtain a 6 Star Green Star Interiors certified rating.
The project has subsequently been registered for rating and is targeting a 6 Star outcome in 2016.
dsquared were subsequently appointed to undertake comprehensive cradle to grave life cycle analysis modelling, advice, and reporting in accordance with EN 15978, and the development of a sustainable transport plan.
We have also separately undertaken a full cradle to grave life cycle analysis modelling and reporting to review the whole of life environmental benefit of selecting an existing building to occupy and upgrade, rather than commission a new building for construction.
dsquared are currently working with DEWNR to prepare Green Star Innovation claims relating to local employment, social sustainability, financial transparency, staff engagement, and reconciliation action planning.
DEWNR in partnership with DPTI consider this project to be a significant turning point and demonstration project in Government procurement and delivery of workplaces.
