dsquared have been working with the University of Adelaide's Sustainability Team on a number of studies with the aim of reducing the university's environmental footprint, including strategic sustainability concepts for the North Terrace campus, and large scale PV arrays at Roseworthy. We have also been working with the University of Adelaide's sustainability team to create a new ESD Design Guideline to complete their Ecoversity programme.


Roseworthy Campus, Renewable Energy Project study
A campus wide feasibility study to establish project opportunities, scope, and financial modelling for various renewable energy opportunities including static and tracking PV arrays.


Ligertwood Building, Lighting Upgrades
A feasibility study to establish project opportunities, scope, and financial modelling for lighting upgrades to the Ligertwood Building, including a L2 energy audit.


University of Adelaide Village, Energy reduction and management study
A feasibility study to establish project opportunities, scope, and financial modelling for various energy reduction projects including, lighting, air conditioning, student and staff engagement, solar PV, and additional metering and management systems, including a L2 energy audit.


10 Pulteney Street, PV
A feasibility study to establish project opportunities, scope, and financial modelling for PV installations at 10 Pulteney Street, including fixed roof and building integrated solar shading systems.


North Terrace Campus, Electric Charging Stations
A feasibility study to establish project opportunities, scope, and financial modelling for electric charging installations at the North Terrace Campus, including student laptop and electric vehicle charging.


Roseworthy Campus, Hot Water Services
A feasibility study to establish project opportunities, scope, and financial modelling for alternative hot water service generation and supply systems at the Roseworthy Campus.


North Terrace Campus, Sustainability Projects Plan
The provision of the substantial content of the Ecoversity sustainable design and retrofit guidelines.


Roseworthy Vet School, PV Array
The design and tender documentation of a new 30kW PV array for the Roseworthy Campus Vet School building.


Roseworthy Campus, student residences
A feasibility study to establish project opportunities, scope, and financial modelling for energy and sustainability projects associated with the student residences at Roseworthy. Including a L2 energy audit.


University of Adelaide, Energy Benchmarking Tool
The development of an Excel based energy benchmarking tool, allowing the automatic energy benchmarking and rating of the University's building using data extracted from the UniSpace facilities management system. The tool allows the ranking of the School against its peers, and a benchmarking database. The benchmarking database and calculator was completed and tested successfully against five North Terrace Campus buildings. This tool can be used to set future benchmarks by changing room typologies and areas (for example, by allocating a UniSpace designated room as "Laboratory" or "Administration Office" for example).


North Terrace Campus, Water Benchmarking and Target Study
The collation of historical water consumption data, the calculation of a proposed benchmark for water use for the entire campus, and recommendations regarding target setting.


North Terrace Campus, Waste Benchmarking and Target Study
The collation of historical waste collection data, the calculation of a proposed benchmark for waste generation for the entire campus, and recommendations regarding target setting.


North Terrace Campus, Energy Profiles and Scalable Strategies Report
The collation of energy data, for all significant buildings on the campus, the calculation of benchmarks for each of the buildings and an assessment of their performance. A whole of Campus energy review was also undertaken, looking for anomalies in consumption profiles and peak demand profiles. A series of tiered and scalable strategies for energy reduction were developed which can be utilised as an agenda for future operational sustainability planning.


Roseworthy Campus, Renewable Energy Project study
An update to the study undertaken in April 2013, including a broader review of the option to disconnect the campus completely from the grid and/or establish a zero carbon energy solution.


Waite Campus, School of Agriculture, Food and Wine - L2 Audits and Energy projects
Level 2 Energy audit and review establish project opportunities, scope, and financial modelling for energy and sustainability projects associated with the buildings occupied in whole or in part by the School.


Sustainability Plan and Target Review 2014-15
Fully feasibility study and report to establish opportunities for renewable energy generation across the entire North Terrace, Waite, and Roseworthy Campuses including scope and financial modelling. This work was undertaken to support the University's preparation of a new Sustainability Plan.
